# Caesar Cipher – documentation

Each letter is moved `shift` places through the alphabet:
|
||
`new_position = (ALPHABET.index(letter) + shift) % 26`.
|
||
The modulo keeps positions in range for shifts past `z`.
|
||
Non-letters are left untouched and letter case is preserved.
|
||
|
